Take A Moment

Matthew 26:36-39
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.

Most times we believe engaging in different activities would help our situation, we sometimes tell ourselves I don’t want to be idle, I don’t want to think about it, I don’t want to be alone, let me hang out with friends or get myself busy with things. Trust me all these ideas are not bad, its good to get yourself busy, worry less and hang out with friends. But have you taken out time to tell friends and activities to stay put while you go and pray about that thing that is bothering you, have you shutdown all the activities and take that time to pray and seek the will of God concerning that situation.

in our text Jesus knows the will of God concerning His life but was still sorrowful and depressed about it. So, He said to His disciplines enough of activities, sit here for a moment while I seek my Father about these things bothering me. We are to seek God in everything we do and He will show us the perfect way. So if you can’t create time out of the many activities or the business, how will you know the will of God and the perfect way to go about that situation you are going through. So beloved take time out of that your busy schedule, or activities to seek God privately. For that is where you know the mind of God and the perfect path God wants you to take to calm that storm of your life.
