Spiritual Disposition – Part 3

The Bible (The Holy Scriptures) responds to the state of mind (heart) of man. A dirty mind (i.e., an account that doesn’t or hasn’t fully agreed with God and His ways) will never find God’s deep things no matter how many times you read through it. Your mind has to agree with God before you begin to see the Word of God with your spiritual eyes and not your physical eyes. Put, if you find reading the Bible boring, you should be anxious.

The Secret of the mind

God hides His intentions sometimes from the mind because He doesn’t trust our minds. That’s one reason for speaking in tongues, to guard us against our minds (our reasoning), so that our mind cannot comprehend what we are saying to Him. The mind is always plotting and scheming without our permission. The mind continually seeks expressions, even without our consent.

Ephesians 2:3 AMP “Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of [a]human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God’s] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind].”

The mind can hide its intentions from its owner. Take For instance; you are spirit-filled, a guy might be approaching a lady to preach the gospel to her, but the mind is also plotting how you could sleep with her. It is not your fault; it’s the way the mind is built. It’s built to function on its own. Sometimes, when we want to do certain things, we need to stop and ask our minds? What is your real intention? What are your motives for doing something? Why am I doing this? We need to lean on what God is saying rather than what our mind says is right.

Proverbs 14:12 (AMP) “There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, But its end is the way of death.” When the scriptures said, “For God will never give you the spirit of fear,[a] but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and Sound Mind.”

(2 Timothy 1:7 TPT). It was talking about an unsound mind, A mind that fears because it has disassociated itself from the true originator (Creator – God) of it.

So when we live in fear, we attract the very things we fear in our minds.

This is why we have to fix our gaze on good things alone, On things that Pertain to God. So the mind can attract God and the very things we desire from God.

This is why the Holy Spirit wants the scriptures in mind and not the head.

So He can go into our minds to search out the word of God and bring it forth to our consciousness whenever it is needed.

Why does God hide things from the natural man? Because of the mind of man. If they find out His ways in their perverted state, they will corrupt it in transmission.

Christ said, “the just shall live by faith,” not be senses or intellect or mind. He let His ways be a mystery so that only those who genuinely seek Him (with true intentions) can see His ways. His ways are all over the bible, but if your mind is not right with God, you won’t see it. You can only copy what others see, but you can’t see it yourself.

So again, I ask? What is your spiritual disposition? What should be the state of your mind and heart?
