God’s Will VS Man’s Free will Part 1 series

Today I have given you the (freewill) choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20 You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This[a] is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NLT

In this scripture lie in a great mystery that though God sovereign as He is still allowed for man to be able to play a major role in how God’s plan finally unfolds. That God in His predeterminate counsel gave room from the foundations of creation for man’s free will to affect His own plans and agenda. This is Very Powerful and deep!

Back Story
This is the very attribute and power that puts us (Man) in the class of gods. This is the very attribute that Lucifer wanted so badly even to the point that he corrupted himself and sold an idea to the fallen angels “The power to make and choose an alternate Government”. Every being in the heavens wields this attribute but no one uses it as the Will of the Father is sufficient and trusting for all.
This same idea of power was what Satan (now fallen) sold to Adam & Eve by introducing it to them also. Sadly they made the wrong choice instead of totally trusting the Father’s Will. Genesis 2:15-17, Genesis 3:1-7

Now Back to this present day…
When we come to God in prayer. God is not committed to doing anything for us outside of His Will, He is only committed to do any & everything that is included in His Will. This is why Jesus teaching His disciples how to pray prioritize this by saying “God’s Will be done on earth as it is done in Heaven” Matthew 6:10. Why? You may ask, this is because our wills cannot be trusted. “Anything good and perfect can only come from above, coming from the Father of the Heavenly Lights…”. James 1:17. Whatever we desire that is not rooted in God’s Will no matter how reasonable, beautiful or promising it may be only leads to destruction.

Each time we pressure God to do things outside of His Will, there is no guarantee of the perfection of such gifts. The end of our request may not be good. An example is
– Hezekiah requesting for more years to live despite his time being up. God granted his request but the consequences was that everything he worked for our taken by the enemy, the good name and reputation he had was soiled and his children ended up working for Babylon.
– Isreal requesting for a king against the will of God. God wanted to be their king but they rejected Him. 1 Samuel 8:6-9. The end of the matter was a disaster, as Isreal was oppressed by several kings.

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Only things gotten in God’s Will guarantees freedom and a perfect end. Anything outside of His Will only leads to bondage and destructions. The patterns are all over the scriptures. E.g the choices made by Eve, Sarah, David etc

Finally, God in the greatness of His benevolence decided to give us (Humans) a free will. That means we have absolute freedom to choose, decide and act in whatever way we want even if we choose to act against God the Father. Free will could be a blessing or a curse depending on who we listen to, God or Satan. May God help us to continue to choose wisely. Amen
