Generosity

GENEROSITY

Text: Proverbs 11; 24-25, 2 Cor. 9:6-14.

Being generous is an habit every child of God should possess or cultivate. It’s a beautiful thing that giving is a ministry on its own. Giving is also an act of showing love either to God or to man.
From the above text, those who give get richer and are prosperous, but those who are cautious of what they can give and are selfish get poorer.
Giving is one of the keys to unlock doors of blessings and prosperity. When we give, our hands are open to receive more from God.
As a mater of fact, we are blessed so we could be a blessing unto others.
Some give so as to get back in return, it is a very bad habit. You don’t give because of what you want to get back in return, instead u give because you want to bless lives.

We are to find joy in giving to God and to our fellow men. “Give to everyone who ask you for something, and when someone takes what is yours, do not ask for it back” (Luke 6:30) Good news version.

What should we give?

We can give different things such as our time, money, ideas, material things, foodstuffs and likes.
Give to God (Tithe and offering), Give to that your neighbor that doesn’t have, give to the less privilege, give to church project and so on.

Generosity should be our lifestyle, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor. 9:7)

Prayer: Oh Lord, please open my heart to giving without holding back.
